Introduced at the 133rd AES Show in October, 2012, Telefunken Elektroakustik''s new Solid Color finishes for their popular M80 Dynamic microphone line were inspired by The Mars Volta, who took it upon themselves to paint their M80 in solid white. TELEFUNKEN is now making the M80 available in a variety of solid colors from their custom shop. The first act to pick up on the M80 Gold was AFI. In the words of FOH Engineer Jamie Rephann, ''the lead vocal mic hits the stage about 5 times per show, and not only did the M80 not break, but the one that hit the stage every night sounded exactly the same as the other 3 we used at the end of the tour!
