- Non-fermented Pu'er Tea:
Tea leaves without fermentation, has a more bitter taste, but worth being kept in the home. It is a great joy to see the tea leaves get fermented and aged slowly by its self, color will change and aroma gets developed.
- Fermented Pu'er Tea:
Tea leaves were processed after-fermentation by the natural bacteria. The taste is much mild and you can have a silky mouth feel, ready to drink. It also give you a great experience in brewing and drinking the tea specially the mellow aroma, it provided like a long aged red wine. You can also keep it aged in the home year by year to add to its value and smoothen the taste.
Taste of puer tea
The brewed fermented puer tea is darkly red, and has a bold, earthy stimulating taste. For optimum brewing, use boiling water. Unlike most other teas, Pu-erh is usually purchased in a compressed state rather than loose leaves. The leaves are pressed together during processing into a variety of shapes. The 'tea bricks' once used as currency were typically made with Pu-erh tea. You just shave off some tea from the brick or ball, into your teapot.
Unfermented Pu’er Tea has a distinct, smokey flavor. Its brew is darker in color than green teas.For newer raw Pu'erh, your may find it a bit bitter or grassy when your tongue first comes in contact with the tea.However,the bitterness will quickly dissipate and transform into a subtle sweetness that coats your mouth,specially taste and aroma change infusion after infusion.
