But listen, make sure you read the directions. Also you don't need to apply that much pressure, let the device do the work. More than likely the people who it "took off a layer of skin" pushed to hard and had it at too fast of a setting. It has different speeds. Therefore it is not too slow, and if you read the instructions you'll be just fine. I looked online at some for the same price, but really wanted one now. So I thought well this one comes with a Acne cleaner and the other one did not , I don't have acne but was like a bonus. After using it my face was soooo smooth and soft. I write reviews about things I buy ,so I came on to write this review . I was very surprised that some didn't like it. I was very excited about writing a review on this. It makes me feel pampered ,because I can't afford to go get a facial. The brush head is very stiff upon first use so soak it in warm water or just keep using it until its loose enough.To all of the reviewers who say it "takes layers of your skin" or its "very abrasive" you just need to use a slower setting and not push to hard. It provides a great, deep clean but if you have very sensitive skin I do NOT suggest this. Overall I am in love with this brush and have been using it everyday since last year. One thing i Hate is that you can not find replacement heads very easily. I still think someone with acne prone skin can use the brush. I've battled acne since I was a young teenager and now I'm in my early 20s still dealing with acne and I'm always trying new treatments to see if anything works and it's usually a hit or miss. I used this product once last night and could see results and this morning I used it again and just after 2 uses my face is so clear. My skin looks clean and vibrant. The acne that I have right now has reduced in redness and a little bit in size.
