'Brute Noir' is Mother James' second album and on 'Brute Noir' Mother James unleashes the untamed blues rhythms of the street in the 21st century in a modern and explosive fashion. The music is inspired by the New Orleans sound and can be described as an orgy in raw jazz horns, shout vocals, brothel pianos and blasphemous gospel. 'Brute Noir' is produced by Per Nordmark (Fireside, Breach) and mixed in Studio Dubious (Hakan Hellstrom, Moneybrother) by Max-Mans Wikman. Among the musicians on the album include Bebe Risenfors (Tom Waits, Elvis Costless), Class Lasso (Miss Li), Stefan Peterson and Mats 'Silver' Nordenborg. Mother James debut album 'Stomping Grounds' (2008) was praised by the critics and even found the band a fan in the great Quentin Traction! Since then Mother James has done two successful European tours and about thirty gigs in Sweden. Contains 11 Songs.
