The designer chose the color red, as a symbol of happiness and luck, to honor her own mother on Mother's Day.</li>

<li>Yarn Required: 600 m (654 yds) of fingering weight yarn (27-29 sts to 10 cm/4"). The yardage of every elann yarn is shown on its ballband. Simply divide the yardage per ball of elann DK weight yarn into the yardage required for this pattern to determine the number of balls you'll require.</li>
