Is it important that a power bank has internal protecting circuit?
Answer: Yes, it is very important. The meaning of a protecting circuit is to prevent over discharging and that may damage the battery cells. If you have chosen a power bank without over discharging protection, your battery cell might die earlier than the one with discharging protection.

 


What is cell Overcurrent Protection?
Answer: If the current is over the protection range while charging or discharging the power bank, the cell Overcurent Protection will terminate the charging or discharging immediately so that it can avoid any catastrophic consequences from happening.

 


What is overheat protection?
Answer: It is a safety function to shut down the electrical current when the battery temperature exceeds a certain level. When the battery temperature becomes too high during the charging process, the electrical current will automatically shut down until the battery cools down to a normal temperature.

 


What is overcharging protection?
Answer: It is a protection IC which terminates the charging process after a certain period. This is to prevent overcharging.

 


What is Over Discharge Protection?
Answer: When the device is discharging, if the battery voltage is lower than 2.3±0.1V, the over discharge protection will terminate discharging immediately, so that it won’t shorten the device or the battery’s lifespan.
