Product Description

Celtic Glass Designs create significant and expressive gifts designed by Beverley Gallagher. Celtic Bird designs can be found in the famous Book of Kells which was created around 800 AD in Ireland and Scotland. The manuscript contains many illuminated engravings of animals, fish and birds. Birds had a special meaning in Celtic lore as it was believed they were the messengers of the Gods. The intricate artwork of the Book of Kells is reproduced in many of the Celtic Bird designs. Inspired by ancient designs found on standing stones, carved crosses, and illuminated manuscripts similar to those found in the famous Book of Kells, that evoke the elegance and mystery of the heritage of Celtic nations around the world.
