It motivates young minds to think, to create and to design. I was watching my little granddaughter open the box and pull out the loom and the many colored bands used to make a potholder. This product held her attention and made her think of the different colors she will use and how the colors would match or what kind of patterns she would make. She took a mass of cloth bands and started to make sense of them. She studied them and decided which colors would go best together. This girl is only four, but the intelligence she used and the way she caught onto the workings of the loom and the way to use the tools provided to pull the cloth through to make a weave was fascinating. It took her a while to get the right way to finish her potholder, but she did it so well with very little help from mom. In fact, she told her mom that she wants to do this by herself so don’t help her. So my little smart four-year-old was on her own and she did a marvelous job putting her potholder together. The potholder is useful to use in a kitchen. It is thick enough to pick up a hot pot with and keep the heat away from your hands. What impressed me the most about this weaving loom is the way it teaches a young mind to think, to plan and to make something which took her own planning, work and finally conclude with the finalization of her own project. The end use is not something which is thrown in some corner with all the other toys, never to be used again. This pot holder will be used again and again and she wants to make other pot holders to add to her kitchen collection. I would definitely recommend this weaving loom to any friend who wants to see a young mind develop and have fun at the same time. This weaving loom brings back memories of my own childhood, as I spent many hours making pot holders for my family members as gifts. It allows your creativity to flow, as it let your imagination run wild as you think of different color combinations and even designs. This loom comes with one loom frame and over a hundred colorful loops to use to make your beautiful creations. It even includes easy directions to walk you through getting started and getting you on your way to make fantastic gifts. This is also a great gift item to gives to people who like to craft and children to help spark the crafter in them. If you purchase a few of these items it is a great group activity for classroom, church groups and even at home as a rainy day indoor activity. It is truly something that people of all ages can enjoy. You do not have to be a young child to have fun with it.
