【Dr.Martens（ドクターマーチン）】
ドクターマーチンの歴史は1945年のドクターマーチンソールの発明にさかのぼります。
スキーによる事故で怪我を負ったドイツの医師クラウス・マーチン博士は、リハビリのために古いタイヤを加工し、クッション性のあるラバーソールを開発しました。この特殊なソールは、ソール内に空気を閉じ込めることで歩行中の衝撃を吸収し「バウンシング」と呼ばれる弾むような歩行性を実現。しかし、このソール独自の特性を最大限に引き出すためには非常に高度な製靴技術が必要で、製品化までに10年以上の歳月がかかりました。そして老舗の製靴メーカーR.グリックス社と出逢い、ついにドクターマーチンのファーストモデルが完成しました。

【アイ ギブソン】
1960年4月に発売されたドクターマーチンのファーストモデル1460と同じ木型を使い、ローカットにしたものがこちらのアイ ギブソン。
当初は工事現場や工場などで働く労働者階級の人や警官が愛用するブーツとして作られていましたが、世界的に有名なミュージシャンや有名アーティストにも愛用され、大ブームになりました。その後もパンクス・モッズ・ロッカーズの定番として絶大な支持を受け、ファッションには欠かせない重要アイテムとして評価されています。ローカットなので、より軽い履き心地になっています。
