1. What is Air Draw?
Air Draw is a 3D printing pen which allows you to create a physical object instantly. You can draw individual parts and join them together or simply just draw all in 3D. The material (filament) will harden in 1-2 seconds after your draw and thereafter, you can hold your drawing physically.
2. Who is it suitable for?
Air Draw is suitable for everyone who wish to create their own object. Be it a display item, an artwork, for your school project, a permanent hand written love letter or simply for fun. There are no boundaries and restrictions to your dreams and ideas. It is a great tool to train your creativity while having lots of fun.
Do note that the tip is hot when connected to power and therefore adult supervision is required for young children.
3. Do I need to have any training in using Air Draw?
The greatest part about 3D pen is that there are no rules. You simply just draw and when it hardens, go on and admire your work. So the answer is No, you do not need to have any prior experience or training to use the pen.
4. What are the materials for the filament?
2 main types of materials can be used for Air Draw. PLA or ABS.
5. What are the improvements in the latest Air Draw?
The pen size had drastically reduced to only 180*20*15mm.
The weight had also been reduced to only 42g.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, now it can be connected to a USB power bank (at least 2.0A output) which allows you to use it anywhere you want. Bring it along with you and start drawing anytime, anywhere.
6. What is the difference between Air Draw and Air Draw Pro?
Air Draw is the basic version pen. Air Draw Pro consists of an OLED screen which display the temperature of the pen and its associated material.
7. How do I use Air Draw?
Using Air Draw is very easy.
Step 1 : Connect USB to power supply (min 2A or 2000mA output) adaptor or power bank.
Step 2 : Press the down feed button once. Green light will start blinking for 70seconds to warm up the nozzle. Once the green light stops blinking, insert the filament
Step 3 : Gently insert the filament into the pen until it cannot be inserted further. Double click the down feed button for automatic continuous feed.
Step 4 : When the filament starts to flow from nozzle, press the down button once to stop continuous feed.
Step 5 : Press and hold the down feed button to start creating your first 3D object.
Tip: Remove the filament when finished by holding the up button. Cut the filament tip every time you re-insert into the pen.
Please note:
There are many low priced adaptors in the market claiming to be 2.0A but are actually not reliable in the power output. One tell-tale sign is that the indictor on the 3D pen continues to blink green light (indicating still warming up) forever.
Please use an adaptor from reliable sources such as those accompanied with your mobile phone indicating output of at least 2.0A.
8. What are the other parameters of the pen:
- Moulding speed: adjustable
- Temperature 130-230℃ adjustable
- Nozzle :0.6mm diameter ceramic
