Deep Color supports 30, 36 and 48-bit color for the three RGB (red, green, blue) colors. This is significant as that puts the number of colors available into the billions. For example, 36 bit color allows for 68, 719, 476, 736 different color variations. Why is all this important? It gives sharper and more vivid images, which is why you need a cable that is capable of Deep Color. Please note in order to have deep color, all your equipment needs to work with it, from your source, to cable, to your display. If any of these devices don't support Deep Color, you won't get the benefit.

ARC or Audio Return Channel allows you to send audio "upstream" from your TV's HDMI inputs to your audio systems HDMI output. Sounds a little confusing but it basically means that you can listen to your TV's audio on a sound bar, or audio system without having an additional cable. Your surround sound Blu-ray player will send video over HDMI to your TV and play the sound through its own speaker system, or you can be watching a TV program over cable and have the sound go from the TV to your surround sound system.
