here it is my tips on using the essential oils:
-Palmarosa: Sweet, rosy like aroma. Skin care, Elimination, soothing, relaxing.
-Bergamot: Strongly anti-septic, use in a burner to cleanse and uplift a room’s atmosphere.
-Eucalyptus: A very powerful natural insect-repellent. · It can be very effective in a steam inhalation to help congestion. Try adding 2 drops Eucalyptus, 1 drop Roman Chamomile and 1 drop Lavender to a bowl of just-boiled water. Lean over the bowl (not too close) with a towel covering your head and inhale the vapours for a few minutes. Alternatively, blend the same oils in two teaspoons of Sweet Almond oil and massage into the chest and back.
-Ho Wood: It has a sweet and relaxing aroma, which blends well with Cedarwood, Bergamot, Lavender and Geranium. We do nit stock Rosewood for ethical reasons (it is an ancirnt rainforest tree and therefore an endangered species); because of Ho Wood's high Linalol content, Ho Wood is considered by many be an alternative of Rosewood in term of its soothing and skin care properties.
-Jasmine 5%: Intensely floral, heady and sensual. It is a sensuous and luxurious addition to skincare – try adding 10 or 12 drops of this dilution to a pot of unfragranced moisturiser. Jasmine is not recommended for use during pregnancy but is very popular during childbirth.
-Mandarin: Mandarin has a sweet, familiar aroma and is considered one of the gentler oils making it popular for use by pregnant women and on children in very low dilutions. After a hard day, try soaking in a bath containing 3 drops of Mandarin, 3 drops of Geranium and 2 drops of Patchouli all blended in a teaspoon of Peach Kernel oil.
-Rose Otto: Deep, rich-sweet, floral aroma. Rose Otto ("Otto" comes from the Ottoman Empire) is the distilled oil, produced by water or steam distillation from very fresh petals. The fragility of the petals necessitates great skill in production. Absolute Aromas has selected this rose otto for its purity and quality. Soothing, relaxing, warming, skin care, sensual. The Organic 3% dilution is perfect to use direct on skin as moisturizer or natural perfume.
-Tea Tree: Tea Tree is highly anti-septic, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-funghal. It is beyond measure as skin cleanser. Try adding 25 drops to a bottle of shower gel for a really cleansing experience. For problem skin, blend 2 drops of Tea Tree in 5ml (a teaspoon) of Jojoba oil – apply twice daily.
-Peppermint: As used in after-dinner mints, is popular after a bout of over-indulgence. Blend 1 drop of Peppermint with 5ml of Sweet Almond oil for a comforting tummy rub (massage in a clockwise direction!) Try adding 4 drops to a bowl of warm water for a wonderfully refreshing footbath. Also a good insect repellent – use in a burner or diffuser or add 10 drops to a plant spray filled with water, shake well and spray the room, pets’ bedding, etc. (Avoid polished wood – may cause bleaching of fabric.)
