What is XBMC?

XBMC Media Center is an award-winning free and open source cross-platform entertainment hub software for HTPCs (Home theater PCs). It uses a 10-foot user interface designed to be a media player for the living-room TV using a remote control as the primary input device. Its graphical user interface (GUI) allows the user to easily browse and view videos, photos, podcasts, and music from a harddrive, optical disc, local network, and the internet using only a few buttons.

Who is XBMC?

The XBMC project is managed by the non-profit XBMC Foundation, and developed by volunteers located around the world. More than 60 software developers have contributed to XBMC, and 100-plus translators have worked to expand its reach, making it available in more than 40 languages.

What can XBMC do?

Currently XBMC can be used to play almost all popular audio and video formats around. It was designed for network playback, so you can stream your multimedia from anywhere in the house or directly from the internet using practically any protocol available. Use your media as-is: XBMC can play CDs and DVDs directly from the disk or image file, almost all popular archive formats from your hard drive. XBMC will scan all of your media and create a personalized library complete with boxcovers, descriptions, and fanart. There are playlist and slideshow functions, a weather forecast feature and many audio visualizations. Once installed, your computer will become a fully functional multimedia jukebox.

Since when XBMC on Android?

XBMC have been developing XBMC for Android since July 2012. The more recent betas are very complete and becoming more stable. XBMC is a media interface first created for the original Xbox and then ported to lots of other platforms. It has many years of development behind it and is a very polished piece of software. Many would say that it is the best way to manage a video / audio collection.

Why most Android devices are not supporting XBMC?

The problem with these betas on Android is that video decoding is done in software, meaning that 720p and 1080p video won't play well. What is needed is XBMC for Android with hardware video decoding. However, this is actually possible for our MINI XBMC HDMi TV Media Hub equipped with Amplayer hardware accelerated video decoding. And it is one of the very first Android based XBMC out of the box.

Easy and Unobtrusive Installation This tiny Smart TV is tiny with the whole device plugging directly

Internal Wi-Fi(n). Wi-Fi(n) is built into the dongle making it easy to connect to your home Wi-Fi network
for internet/streaming use, or to access networked media via a home network.

The full sized USB port can be used to attach an external hard drive up to 2TB for media storage. It would be very
unusual to require any more than 4GB internal storage for storing Apps.
