I really haven't tested the theory on weather it helps calm me or not, but either way I really like the way it tastes. I like that unlike soda it doesn't have any chemicals in it but it can still satisfy that craving since its carbonated. There is a small amount of sugar in it but not much and it isn't overly sweet tasting, which I like.
