Costly glass or ceramic weights can chip or burst during the fermentation process for no apparent reason causing waste of the entire batch. Experienced fermenters know that CLEAR WATER AIRLOCKS are dependable in observing the release of oxygen bubbles, which reveals and confirms active fermentation. The Airlock allows the system to exhale oxygen and prevents re-entry. QRP® 3-Piece Airlocks are easy to un-assemble and rinse, unlike lids without airlocks where food particles get trapped underneath difficult to remove and replace seals and date markers. The QRP lid reserves space for a date label.
