sugru is the exciting new self-setting rubber that can be formed by hand. It moulds like play-dough, bonds to almost anything and turns into a strong, flexible silicone rubber overnight. Developed by a team of product designers and material scientists, sugru's patented technology is unique in its combination of hand-formability, self-adhesion and flexibility when cured. It feels like modelling clay, and it's that easy to use too. Once cured, its durable properties mean it's comfortable in extreme environments from the dishwasher to the ocean in Antarctica.
The sugru - Multi Color (Pack of 8) gives you 8 foil-wrapped pieces of sugru ready for 8 fixing sessions around the house, car, garden, kid’s playroom or just about anywhere really. You get 2 pieces of red, yellow and blue sugru, and one each of black and white - perfect to colour blend for invisible fixes around the home, or adding colourful improvements to personal items.
sugru can be mixed together to make any colour you like! sugru is hand formable and can be moulded and shaped by hand for up to 30 minutes once it has been removed from its air-tight packaging. sugru sticks to almost anything - in fact it was designed to stick to as many other materials as possible. It forms a strong bond to aluminium, steel, ceramics, glass, wood and other materials including some plastics like perspex and ABS and rubbers like silicone and butyl rubber. sugru feels like modelling clay when you take it from its pack but once it's exposed to air, it cures to a tough flexible silicone overnight. Working time = 30 mins. Cure time = 24hrs (0.2 inch deep).
When sugru cures, it's flexible rather than rigid which means that you can repair things that need to be able to move like textiles, cables, or shoes. It's also electrically insulating - how awesome is that? sugru is strong and durable and is great outdoors. Once cured, it will stand up to anything the weather throws at it, wet or dry, hot or cold, it will survive. It also won't fade in the sun and it's fine with sea water too. As sugru is a silicone rubber, it feels soft to touch when it has cured, but is also grippy. This makes it perfect for handles and grips as it is comfortable but non-slip. sugru is also stable in extreme temperatures - as low as -58°F and as high as +356°C. It gets hot and cold to touch but it won't get softer or harder or melt.
Yes, they will! Once it's cured, sugru is pretty much like other silicones - so it's completely waterproof. It's easy to clean with soap and water, and it's durable in the harsh conditions of your washing machine and dishwasher, and even in the sea.
Yes, you can! sugru can be removed from non-porous materials by cutting it off with a sharp knife and removing any residue with fingernails and a tissue. Easy peasy!
sugru is chemically inactive once cured, but people can be allergic to anything so we have to tell you to be careful. sugru isn't certified as food safe or child safe yet. We're working on it, but for now please resist the urge to eat it and don't let your little kids play with it.
sugru has a use by date printed on every individual minipack. If you use your sugru within its date, your fixes will last and last. But if your unopened minipacks in keep it in the fridge you can triple sugru's shelf life!
