ND filter
The ND filter is a neutral density (Neutral Density), which is a neutral density filter that evenly absorbs visible light indiscriminately.
It is the role of neutral density filter to reduce only the amount of light without affecting the color of the subject.
Divided into ND glass filter and hard resin filter by production method.
In the shape, it is divided into a circle and a square.
From the viewpoint of appearance, the ND filter is gray or black, the stronger the darkening effect, the more black it becomes.
NiSi's ND square filter adopts a double-sided water repellent reflection coating to prevent ghosting and flaring.
The role of ND filter
1. In a bright environment, you can shoot with the aperture open by attenuating the light by installing the ND filter, so you can shoot with the background blur.
2. By attaching the ND filter and slowing down the shutter speed, you can shoot the water flow like a white thread.
3. Smooth the flowing waterfall and erase objects moving in the field during the day, making it possible to create works by long-time exposure.
It is possible to shoot solar eclipses with ND 500 or more.
Solution on light leakage problem of ND filter
Light enters from the camera's viewfinder, causing light leakage phenomena.
If it is a little light, it will not be noticeable in normal shooting, but it may be affected if the exposure time is from tens of seconds to a few minutes.
In such a case, you can prevent light leakage by attaching a cap to the camera's viewfinder or covering the camera with a black cloth.
