Differences between RAW or Processed Honey

Raw honey has been neither heated nor filtered. Pasturising and filterationis honey removing of pollen and  beneficial vitamins and enzymes among a host of other natural constituents . Unless you see the term raw on a honey label, you can assume that it’s processed. Most honeys, including pure and natural ones, are treated to prevent fermentation and preserve it in a liquid state in order to keep it from crystallizing. These techniques make the product more appealing to consumers; shoppers generally prefer to pick up a bottle of clear, golden honey, because that’s what we’re used to.

Benefits of RAW Honey

Antimicrobial & Antibacterial Activity

Currently, many researchers have reported the antibacterial activity of honey and found that natural unheated honey has some broad-spectrum antibacterial activity when tested against pathogenic bacteria, oral bacteria as well as food spoilage bacteriaThe antimicrobial activity in most honeys is due to the enzymatic production of hydrogen peroxide.

Honey is gaining acceptance as an agent for the treatment of ulcers, bed sores and other skin infections resulting from burns and woundsThe healing properties of honey can be ascribed to the fact that it offers antibacterial activity, maintains a moist wound environment that promotes healing, and has a high viscosity which helps to provide a protective barrier to prevent infection .

The removal of exudate in wounds dressed with honey is of help in managing inflamed wounds

Honey: an Effective Cough Remedy

According to an article from MAYO clinic , the world renowned Hospital, Drinking tea or warm lemon water mixed with honey is a time-honored way to soothe a sore throat. But honey alone may be an effective cough suppressant, too.

In one study, children age 2 and older with upper respiratory tract infections were given up to 2 teaspoons (10 milliliters) of honey at bedtime. The honey seemed to reduce nighttime coughing and improve sleep.

In fact, in the study, honey appeared to be as effective as a common cough suppressant ingredient, dextromethorphan, in typical over-the-counter doses. Since honey is low-cost and widely available, it might be worth a try.

I am a big fan of three products: Really Raw Honey, Honest Raw Honey, and Eco Bee Farms.
I would rank these products in the same order. The first two are made in US.
Eco Bee Farms product includes honey from Brazil too.

Question:
Is there testing data available to show there are no herbicides or pesticides in this honey?
that's a bold claim for honey produced in the u.s.a.

Answer:
We can make this claim because we control the process from start to finish.
We own the hives and keep them very far away from commercial farming operations where herbicides would be used. Pesticides too, although they would kill the bees before they would get into the honey!
