Very odd and no one smokes in my house...it smells a bit less now-hopefully over time it will be gone, otherwise I will call the manufacturer about it. Other than this, the pillow was firmer than I expected BUT it still felt good to sleep on because it really cradles/supports/surrounds/molds to your head & neck..nice feeling. I hope it gets softer over time so I can enjoy this pillow even more!!!
