Even though this product is advertised as for use with European tester, it works fine with the US tester. I guess it's priced in the US based on what the market will bear.I wasn't sure the results would be accurate because sometimes, pharmaceutical companies alter the way program tester results to discourage the consumer from using an identical product they sell in another part of the world at a lower price. In the first two weeks, when I visited friends with type 2, i took my unit loaded with these strips with me. I took readings with their products and immediately afterwards, tested with mine. The results were always within 4 points. At half the price, we will continue to use them until Roche figures it out and gets customs to ban the importation of these strips from Roche labs outside the US.

I know this meter is an old kind but it still works so as long as I can still get the cartridges for it, I'll continue to use it for my husband. He doesn't test often so one cartridge lasts almost a year for him. I like the fact that there's no little strip to mess with and no calibrating needed. And the battery is easy to replace -- no special battery needed.
