TODAY ONLY! 25% off for Cyber Monday. Normally $40! Buy today and Save! UNSCREW-UMSTM are designed to back out broken screws and remove other fasteners with minimal damage to the surrounding wood. Often the broken screw can be replaced with the same-sized screw. Sometimes, a longer and/or thicker screw may be needed, especially if structural strength is important. On rare occasions, the hole must be epoxied or plugged and redrilled. The important thing is that something can be done because the old screw is gone. The set includes 5 standard length UNSCREW-UMSTM sizes 1/8'' to 1/4'' 1/8'', 5/32'', 3/16'', 7/32'' and 1/4''. All are the standard 2'' length. Handles screw sizes #4 to #12, the most common household screws. How do UNSCREW-UMSTM work? Choose an UNSCREW-UMSTM which is a little too small to fit comfortably outside the shank of the screw. The UNSCREW-UMSTM is tightened into a bit brace or a variable-speed drill (moderate to heavy duty cordless is fine). THE DRILL IS RUN IN REVERSE. The UNSCREW-UMSTM uses the broken screw as a guide. Wooden boat builder Tom Jannke invented UNSCREW-UMSTM in the 1980s. Later, he retired and began making and distributing UNSCREW-UMSTM to craftsmen all over the world. Thirty years later this simple tool continues to be an essential piece in every wooden boat builder''s toolbox.
