This one looked like the old one but it was nothing like it. You cannot see your lashes while they are in the curler so you can't tell if you have them all in, if they are in straight, etc. Also, it is very slow to heat up and the curling is unsatisfactory. However, if you lashes barely stay curled for an hour using a traditional curler, this one is no better. It is recommeded that you hold the curler for 15 seconds. I have used it up to a minute. First understand that I don't use this on a daily basis and in fact I have only tested it once to be sure it worked. I'm in my 50's now and stopped wearing make-up on a daily basis after giving birth to my first child at 34 and second at 36. I'm sure many mom's will agree that having the time to put on make-up is a luxury if you don't have an Au Pair. I tested the eyelash curler to be sure it worked and it did although my eyelashes did not stayed curled very long but I believe it may have stayed curled if I had used mascara after they were curled. I know that using the old fashioned curler worked well for me when I applied waterproof mascara immediately after curling. I have tried a few other heated curlers and I found this one is better at getting all the eyelashes in it better than the others I've tried.
