It's dramatic enough to make an impact, but small enough not to be overpowering. It measures 3/4 inch at its widest (center) point. So why didn't I give it five stars? Two reasons. First, the necklace is composed of flat links of varying widths, creating the illusion of a series of graduated pendants. For this reason, the links have a slight tendency to flip upward and outward over the collarbone with the wearer's movements, rather than lying flat at all times. (Take care not to twist the necklace when fastening it, or you will exaggerate the problem.) Second, the length is not adjustable. It would have been nice to be able to wear it at 16" rather than 18". Shortening it myself isn't an option, as the fastenings are soldered in place. (I may have it professionally shortened, if that's affordable.)
