1.Be sure you have your pet under control before attempting to attach the retractable leash

3.When leash is at a desired length,push the small top black button in with your thumb.This will cause the leash to lock.To release,press the large black button down.To temporarily hold your pet at a certain length,hold down the large black button with your thumb once released the leash will then begin to retract

4.If the retractable leash seperates itself from your dog's collar during use,immediately turn your face away and instanttly apply the brake button.
