The material is very soft, but the sheets and pillow cases seem very thin, so they may not wear very well. The comforter is nice, just thick enough for Winter, but not too thick for the Summer season. Color on the reverse side of the comforter is solid medium-gray, and the fine stripes in the plaid that look to be pale-blue in the picture are actually a light gray color.
