Product Description
Monoi butter is made through a process called effleurage, a painstaking extraction method. It works like this: Before the blossoms open, they are picked by hand, then rushed to a perfumery plant. There, they are steeped in oil for no less than 15 days. The time-consuming process slowly releases the flower's unique properties for use in perfumery. Related to the glistening gardenia, Tiare is the floral emblem of French Polynesia, celebrated as the flower of love and renowned for its nutrient-rich essence. A creamy white, pinwheel-shaped flower, it releases a scent that's heady, at turns sweet and exotic. A Tiare flower worn behind one's ear is said to signal the wearer's romantic availability. ----- Skin Care: Monoi has been scientifically tested and proven to provide long-lasting moisturization and have soothing and purifying effects on the skin. Monoi moisturizes skin so well that, in the ancient times, early Polynesians used to cover their newborn babies from head to toe with Monoi to protect them from dehydration. ----- Hair Care: Monoi butter can be used as a pre-shampoo hair treatment to deep condition and protect hair from atmospheric aggressions. The butter can make the hair more soft, silky and shiny. If combined into an emulsion for creams and lotions, Monoi Butter will add moisturizing benefits as well as essential aroma aspects to the finished product.
