The first Kyle the customer could tell it was made out of leather, however the Kyle II seemed like the leather was so refined to make it have a plastic look and feel. The Kyle II had a brownish wedge sole at the end of their production which wore better but it did not have the soft feel of the Kyle. The Kyle III brought back that nice soft white sole back with a suede brown leather mixed with straps of man-made material on the heel. Some may like the look of the first two Kyle's better. This look now may steer some customers the other way and look at a different boot. These boots like all cheaper boots in price, quality, and materials cannot be compared to a boot that cost two hundreds dollars or even a hundred dollars. The eyelets and the laces are okay. The construction is okay. I am not going to compare apples to oranges. These are great for those that are on a budget. I wear a size 9.5 in a shoe but I bought a size 9 in these and they fit me. They have a removal insoles, but I just put my own insoles right on top of the ones already there because they run wide for me. Buy your boots in the evening because your feet swell throughout the day. Five stars for the price, quality, and materials when comparing these to other wedge boots that are around the forty dollar range. These are great for the home owner, tile layer, concrete workers, landscapers, painters, dry wallers, roofers, road workers, and ware house workers. If you need steal toes then these are not for you. It would work if your a desk jockey too. The outter soles will wear out quicker than others but you do not have to re sole these because of the price just pick up another pair. I would not recommend these particular boots to hike in the woods with, but you can walk the city streets in comfort.
