You'll find everything you need to get deep into the wilderness in the Salewa Women's Mountain Trainer Mid GTX Backpacking Boots. Serious mountain boots with an alpine-inspired design, the Mountain Trainers are fitted with a Gore-Tex Performance Comfort membrane for the waterproof, breathable performance you need when going remote. With harsh above treeline environments in mind, their uppers are composed of thick suede and wear-resistant Cordura, and they are reinforced by a full-wrap rubber rand. To keep the heel of your feet secure in the heel pockets, the boots feature Salewa's 3F EVO system. The system is designed to secure your ankle, while still granting mobility for a comfortable hiking feel. A mid-stiff nylon midsole give the boots the rigid feel you'd expect to find on a pair of mountaineering boots. Their Vibram Alpine Approach soles will perform well on rugged, rocky terrain, but that's not to say they won't easily handle smooth sections of trail too.
