DESCRIPTION

This beautiful mala is made up of fresh water pearls varying from a soft hue of grey, rose, purple to white. The centerpiece of this mala is the large white south sea pearl serving as the pendant or guru bead. South Sea pearls have a unique luster quality that is quite noteable. India's sacred books and epic tales abound with pearl references. One legend has the Hindu god Krishna discovering pearls when he plucks the first one from the sea and presents it to his daughter Pandaïa on her wedding day. At least until the beginning of the 20th century it was a Hindu custom to present a completely new, undrilled pearl and pierce it during a ceremony. Pearls symbolize purity and stimulate the mind in clarity and wisdom. They help enhance personal integrity and focus ones attention. They accent the feminine, the dignified, wise mother in all of us. Rudrakshas represents the tears of Lord Shiva he sheds in his compassion for humanity. The Rudraksha bead is the heart of Aum Rudraksha Designs creations, bringing today's world the wisdom and power of the ancient sages in the form of contemporary malas. The Rudraksha beads we use are grown on sustainable plantations in South East Asia and are authentic. The gems we use together with our rudraksha beads in malas and jewelry are highest quality and are only those that have power and healing aspects. This is a major part of what we are about. We check the vibration (power) of our beads, as many have a higher vibration than others and we use the best in our mala. Rudraksha beads are sacred and need to be treated with respect and care. Wash them once in a while to remove dirt and dust. Oil them with coconut or sandalwood oil to preserve them. They will turn darker with your own body oil when wearing them. This is the desired effect. Take them off when you sleep.
