Alpha-wormery is an upward migrating vermicomposting bin system. As the composting worms are finished with digesting the wastes at the lower tray, they will move up the upper tray when there are new wastes fed. This facilitates harvesting of worm castings at the lower tray as most of the worms have vacated that particular tray. Once this tray is emptied into your gardens, composting can then be restarted as the top tray. There is also a collection tray at the bottom of the system to drain off the worm tea to fertilise your plants. Worm tea can also be sprayed into the leaves of the plants as a natural pesticide.
