Some manufacturers use refined Shea Butter to give it a better fragrance and texture, but these alterations may disturb or destroy the natural integrity of the ingredient and the product may lose its beneficial properties. We do not alter our Shea Butter so the fragrance is the natural scent of Organic Shea Butter and the scent may take some getting used to. Please be aware that unlike refined shea butters, the appearance of virgin organic shea nut butter is a pale, tan yellowish color that carries a VERY characteristic odor.
