During our camping travels we make multiple elevation changes from 3500 ft one hour to 9000 ft the next and it is never more than 200 feet off and more often than not within 100 ft of posted elevations on the roads we travel. The key is to self calibrate it every so often when you know the true elevation; it's a tool and you have to know how to use it. Now I use to think the thermometer only read my body temp. until recently it donned on me that you may have to self calibrate it as well, so I did, and now I find it to be pretty darn accurate while on my wrist. I have been wearing mine for three years or more now and it is the best watch I have ever owned. I have prettier watches for show, but this one is my daily one and it gets abused in work, water, mud, dust, sweat, vibrations from hand tools, hunting, fishing, offroading, you name it! I work and play hard and this watch is up to it! Why do I sound so excited about this watch? The thing only cost $50, check out other watches with altimeters and see what they are running. P.S. I know the exact surface elevation of the Lake where I live and every so often while on the shore line I check the watch for accuracy and my watch is often dead on (+/- 20 feet as it only reads in 20 foot increments). Was this review helpful?Yes (18)No (1)Report11/28/2011Average rating:4out of5stars, based onreviews11/28/2011by geek65147I like it so far since got it.
