<br />Description: White hydrophilic ointment
<br />Indications:
<br />Bacterial skin infections, e.g. Impetigo, boils, carbuncles, folliculitis,
<br />paronychia, sycosis barbae, hidradenitis, erythrasma, acne vulgaris, infected wound,
<br />infected eczema, infected ulcer.
<br />Specification: 2%
<br />Dosage & Administration:
<br />This ointment should be applied to the affected areas in a thin film
<br />2-3 times daily, generally for a period of 7 days; It may be gently rubbed in.
<br />The area may, if necessary, be covered with a porous dressing. The therapy could
<br />be extended for a longer period according to the nature of the disease.
<br />Precautions:
<br />This ointment should not be used in or near the eye because of the
<br />possibility of conjunctival irritation.
<br />Treatment of severe or refractory skin lesions should be supplement with the
<br />administration of a systemic antibacterial agent. If severe irritation or sensitization
<br />develop, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted.
