This figure-8 clavicle strap for treatment of collarbone fractures and poor posture has a number of features that make it comfortable to wear. The straps of the clavicle fracture brace are shielded from the body with wide padding and a felt-covered back pad where the straps merge. Breathable, knitted stockinette covers the felt of this figure 8 clavicle splint. This posture brace is free of latex. Wearing a posture support that loops around the shoulders and crosses at the back can help one to maintain good posture by retraining the muscles of the back to remain in an upright, non-slouched position. Wearing a posture support can also help by reminding one to be cognizant of his or her posture. Besides wearing posture braces, making a conscious effort to correct one's posture and performing exercises and stretches to strengthen the core can keep the body in proper alignment. This posture strap is also commonly used as a treatment for minor collar bone and clavicle fractures. As long as the bone remains in alignment and there are no displaced bone fragments, immobilizing the shoulder with this clavicle brace for a period of time is usually a sufficient treatment. In more serious clavicle breaks where the bone must be reset, surgery may be necessary. But afterward, this clavicle fracture brace may again hold the shoulder still so that the collarbone can heal.
