The brush is very fluffy so perfect for powders. I usually use this for bronzing my skin. I find it too large to contour, but it's perfect to add a little sunkissed colour to the face. It would also work well with setting or finishing powder. I've never have a problem with ELF brushes shedding. It's too big to contour most areas on your face. However, I highly highly recommend this brush for setting powders, all over bronzer, body powder, buffing out harsh blush, and contouring and highlighting areas of the body (shoulders, collarbone, ect). This is my favorite brush for that it picks up the perfect amount of product ,not too much and not too little, it's absolutely lovely and oh so soft on the face. The brush's shape and soft bristles, applied with a soft hand, make it easy and effortless to distribute powder without disturbing any makeup already on your face. Also I use this brush daily and wash it frequently and I don't think it has lost even a single hair, it has kept its shape, and it looks brand new.
