CANESTEN Vaginal 1 Tablet 500mg Single-Dose Treatment
The active ingredient in Canesten® prevents the development and proliferation of yeast cells and which kills them. Only yeast cells are affected, while human cells remain unharmed. This is why Canesten® is also very well tolerated; transient, mild side-effects occur only rarely.
It is important for you to eliminate the cause of the yeast infection and at the same time be freed quickly of its accompanying unpleasant symptoms such as itchiness and burning. For this reason, Bayer offers the anti-fungal product Canesten® as a vaginal cream and a vaginal tablet (pessary/vaginal tablet). The vaginal cream or tablet is inserted into the vagina with a special applicator, where it eliminates the infection at its source. You can support treatment of the burning sensation and itchiness at the vaginal entrance by applying Canesten® cream.

Use
Canesten Vaginal Tablets are used to treat recurrent candidiasis (yeast infections). Canesten's anti-mycotic and fungicidal properties are able to relieve the itching and discomfort associated with candidiasis.
Dosage
Canesten® is prescription-free in most countries as a 1-, 3-, or 6-day therapy. Regardless of what course of therapy you choose, it is important to remember that symptoms will improve after about 3 days.
Side Effects
Some people find that localized irritations or burning sensations occur after using Canesten. These side effects are usually mild and the patient should not be concerned. Other people have reported lower abdominal cramping and increased urine output after taking Canesten.
Precautions
It is not usually recommended for use during the first 3 months of pregnancy. However, talk to your doctor about the proper use and dosage of Canesten during pregnancy.
