I'm typically archery hunting from PA to KS and everywhere between, but also hunt Western states with a rifle. This rangefinder offers the precise readings needed for archery but also while give you a good reading on deer and like size game at a long distance. I've hunted with people using other brands that were very discouraged that their 800 or 1000 yd rangefinder wouldn't give a reading on a deer at 300 + yds. Not the case with this and it even works in severe weather conditions and has stood up to a lot of abuse. Battery life is excellent as well and should last at least 2 yrs of regular use. I was able to read distances out farther than 500y with ease. I love the sturdy clip it comes with to attach to my bino-harness.
