In a business environment, whether it be a multi-storey block or a home-based office, installed sensitive electronic equipment is vulnerable to switching surges even from apparently innocuous devices such as fluorescent lamps, lifts or photocopiers. Transient voltage surges happen anywhere, at any time and can wreak havoc in terms of lost or corrupt data in computer and communications systems and in worst case conditions, will cause equipment damage.
