IMPORTANT NOTICE
Recently Xiao Mi had released the latest version XIAO MI Yi IP Camera Firmware Version : 1.8.6.1B_201603181307.According to Official relase note,the latest firmware could cause the IP Camera could not work normally in overseas regions(Regions except China Mainland).Currently please do not upgrade the firmware to Version : 1.8.6.1B_201603181307.If you had upgraded to this specific verison already,don't worry,it is very easy to roll back the upgrade by reinstalling the Version 1.8.5 series firmware.To do that,simply follow the steps down below:
1) Downgrade the camera firmware to 1.8.5.1,To do that you need first of all download the firmware in the following link:

    Firmware(1.8.5.1L + 1.8.5.1K).zip

* The above firmware zip file contains both 1.8.5.1L version firmware and 1.8.5.1K version.Both are provided by Xiao Mi Yi official site.The 1.8.5.1L_201506291725 and the 1.8.5.1K_201508311131 is the full version name.We suggest you install 1.8.5.1L version first and if there's any issue about that firmware on your camera,you can try the 1.8.5.1K version.

2) Extraxt the file,RENAME THE FIRMWARE FILE TO "home" (Very Important). then copy it to a micro sd card which was formatted as FAT format.Insert the micro sd card in to the camera and power on the camera.It takes about 2mins and the yellow light from beaming slowly --> yellow light on --> yellow light beaming quickly.Then you can configure it..You can refer to the tutorial on youtube as follows:

It does not mean you can not upgrade the firmware in the future,since we and many other companies and forums had reported this issue to Xiao Mi,and they will develop new firmwares in the future to get rid of this feature.


For iPhone(Any iOS Based Device) Users
To ensure the camera working properly,iPhone(iOS based devices) users,need to download and install the app using a new apple id AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THE REGION OF THE APPLE ID SHOULD BE CHINA.It allows you to install the app from the Apple store China store,which will match the version of the camera.If you install the app using your  Singapore region apple  id,the camera  could never pair the phone due to mismatch of app version and camera version.There are  few customers who encountered this issue and  did not  follow our advices to pair the camera,insist that the camera had hardware malfunction,but after returned back we found the camera works well without any issue at all.Under this situation,we thought the issue could not be resolved even if we send you a brand new replacement camera.So we sincerely ask you to check the following things ,Especially for iOS Users:

--Install the 1.8.5 version firmware
--Reset the camera  After  reinstallation of the firmware.
--Reset the camera after every connection failure.
--Double check the wifi password you input in the app.
--iOS users should make sure the app was intalled from Apple Store China Store.VERY IMPORTANT.(By using a new China apple id,how to do it is shown below ).
--If you had issues connect this camera using iPhone,reset the camera by push the reset button inside the hole using a pin until you hear the voice from the camera,then release the button.Try connecting the camera using an android phone.

Currently, there are the most common issues:

Preparation work

skip this if you have successful experience to pair before

  1. make sure your App version is up to date
  2. make sure your Wi-Fi SSID and password is correct and there is no any other security related settings on your router, such as:
    • No static IP address assignment
    • No MAC address filter
  3. 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is supported only.

ISSUE 1: Product and App version mismatch

  1. Identify the product version of your camera

Please check the first 4 characters on the back of the camera as below  figure ,

CN: Chinese Version 

US / TW /KR/other Country Code: International Version

2. Install the matching App

You have to install the correct App, otherwise the camera can be never paired.

Currently we have official selling channels in CN/US/KR/TW only, in any other countries/areas, you can’t find this App in your local Google Play or App Store. Error message may be nothing/this App is not available in your market/your device is not support this App/etc.

how to connect?
1.connect power by USB cable or charger adapter
2.wait until camera's yellow light flicker
3.download APP by scanning one of the two two-dimension code on the manual
4.register one APP'S account and sign in
5.click "+" on the upper right side, search xiaomi camera
6.insure camera and smart phone use the same wifi, input wifi password, then can connect with camera
