I'd say the Schick Hydro might be on part with the Gillette Mach3, a longtime top choice of mine. The Schick Hydro is a big step up. It has the comfort and utility of similar razors (actually I think it might be more comfortable, but it's at least as good) and from what I can tell it also lasts longer. I can usually get blades from other razors to last out to two weeks because I shave after showering, but at that point the lubrication strip is gone and the blades are pulling more than I'd like. The Hydro has been going strong for two weeks now and is still cutting smooth and the lubrication area keeps on working as well. The gel meshes perfectly with the razor to give it the ideal amount of lubrication. I also like that the lubrication area pulls back so that you can use the full blade for trimming and getting up under the nose area. It's a little awkward to get that section pulled back, but I find once that is done that using the main blade for those tasks is better than using the little trimming blades on other razors. A win win no matter how you look at it! Normally I have at least mild razor burn even with using shaving gel not matter what brand but when using the Edge Sensitive Skin gel I was shocked to notice that I didn't have any razor burn in the slightest which was AMAZING! The gel did a great job allowing the razor to glide across my face but allowed the razor to get close enough to get a good clean shave. In the future I will surely be purchasing Edge Sensitive Skin shave gel since it is from my preferred brand and did an outstanding job. I will also be recommending this to whoever I can in conversations. Job well done Edge!! I broke out my Schick Hydro and Edge Sensitive Skin Gel in hopes to return back to normalcy. I heard that these were good, but I didn't expect what was to come. I then lathered up my face with the gel and got right to work. Each stroke that I made was perfect - The combination of these two items made it feel like I was sliding warm butter across a piece of hot toast. On top of that, the shave was very close. One stroke per area was all that was needed. When I finished my face as very smooth and clean-cut feeling. I loved this combination and will be getting more when these run out.
