The set is very easy to use. You just need to assemble your outfit plate (choose 3 pieces) and then place the charcoal paper and slide 1 outfit onto the plate and use the tool to rub the design onto the dress. The only slight complaint is that the design doesn't transfer over completely on some areas so I took a fine tip permanent marker to trace these areas. She was thrilled to receive it because she enjoys designing clothes. It was not "design, swipe, and decorate"; it was a nightmare! First, we struggled to stretch the dress over the plastic holder with the fashion plates in place. When this did not work, we removed the fashion plates, struggled to slide the dress over the plastic holder itself and then slid the design plates underneath the dress. After all this, the design did not transfer onto the dress with the enclosed carbon paper. In the process of checking to see if the design had transferred, the fabric moved which threw everything off. When trying to use the markers, the fabric ? being nylon ? slid. The whole project was neither easy, nor fun. I also purchased an extra set of dresses, but returned those to the store as soon as we found out how difficult it was.
