This is my third Seiko Watch since 1973 and the same type, self winding. Opened, adjusted the band size then set the day and time per the instructions. The final step was to manually wind the main spring for the first time prior to the self winding action take over. Unable to wind the watch with the winding stem. It spun freely in both directions with no resistance to the winding ratchet. NO CONECTION......defective when received two days earlier. The watch was running when received due to the transit handling. Have returned it to the company called Watch Savings in Brooklyn NY as per the customer service instructions for a replacement. I will wait the two weeks turn around for the replacement service before I start calling them. FIRST NEW WATCH I HAVE EVER BOUGHT THAT DID NOT WORK ON THE FIRST DAY.
