Imperial State Crown: The best known of all the crowns, the present Imperial State Crown was made for King George VI in 1937. For the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 the shapes of the arches were altered to reduce the height. It is fitted with a purple velvet Cap of Estate turned over with ermine and is mounted in gold and silver. It weighs 2 pounds 13 ounces and is set 2,868 , 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds, 5 rubies and 273 pearls.
Edwards's Crown: There have been two crowns called St Edward's Crown; that which may have belonged to Edward the Confessor, and that which replaced it in 1661. For the 1911 Coronation of King George V, Garrard, the crown jeweler, reset the crown with 444 precious and semi precious stones. The St. Edward's Crown (1661) is made of Gold, set with precious and semiprecious stones, and weighs over 5 pounds, the St. Edward's Crown is reputed to contain part of the old crown from the 11th Century.
Sovereign's Sceptre with Cross: The Sceptre was made for Charles II in 1661 by Robert Vyner, and has served at every Coronation since. Symbolising the Sovereign’s temporal power under the cross of his or her people, it is placed in the Sovereign’s right hand during the Coronation ceremony. It weighs 1LB 12oz and is 36.5 inches long, made of 18 carat gold. It is set with 272 diamonds, 25 rubies, 1 sapphires and 12 emeralds in enamelled scrolls.
