About Dead Sea Salts & Minerals
Situated in the lowest point of the earth, 400 metres below sea level, the Dead Sea in Israel can be considered the world's first spa resort to be used by man. It was appreciated by Cleopatra and also by the Queen of Sheba. Even then it was known that the mud and mineral treatment would leave skin looking beautiful and help to maintain the figure: this is due to a process of osmosis that helps to eliminate excess fluids. This large salt water lake is so original on account of the high percentage of minerals in the water. This concentration is due to the high salt content which is ten times that of the ocean, and because of the high temperatures and low humidity in the area, causes the water to evaporate and the salt to precipitate at a concentration of active substances of about 27% compared to the 3% average of other marine salts.
Dead Sea salt comes from the famous salt lake in which precious active ingredients have been building up for thousands of years. The high percentage of minerals (magnesium, potassium, sodium, calcium) in this salt makes it ideal for a zgreat, relaxing spa bath as well as for cosmetic treatment that will help combat unsightly cellulite, a scrub to remove dead skin cells and a stress-relieving foot bath. Soaking in a warm bath with this salt will help skin stay toned and soft.
