About Radar Tyres

Radar Tyres, is the design driven yet affordable flagship brand of Omni United that was launched in 2006. It is the first tyre brand in the world to be certified carbon neutral.

It offers a full range of passenger car, SUV and light truck fitments, as well as a recently launched tyres line for off the road motorsport applications.

Radar Tyres is a reliable brand that is manufactured in compliance with the including ISO, DOT, ECE, INMETRO, GCC and CCC and utilizing PAH free oils in their compounds to comply with stringent European standards.

Radar tyres launched Mobilizing HOPE in 2011, a campaign to support and raise funds for the BCRF (Breast Cancer Research Foundation) and that has so far raised close to $1Million to support the foundation’s research projects towards preventing and finding a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime.

We have always believed that we need to proactively engage and influence all functions along our value chain towards sustainable management of resources. We are aware of the impact of our operations and our products on the environment and we aim to reduce their negative effect progressively in collaboration with our external partners.

In 2012, we commissioned Ernst and Young to do an in-depth study on the impact of the production footprint of Radar tyres, our flagship brand, on the environment. Ernst and Young examined and quantified the amount of greenhouse gases (primarily carbon dioxide) produced from procuring raw materials, manufacturing, distribution, as well as energy used in the company’s offices and employees' travel. Based on the study recommendations, we undertook a number of changes to our business processes and actions geared to off-set the carbon footprint, such as investing in projects that remove or reduce carbon dioxide from the environment. As a result Radar tyres became the first tyres brand to be 100% carbon neutral by late 2013.

Supporting the BCRF
We believe that research leads to innovation and innovation leads to change. These beliefs led us to partner with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in 2011, the leading breast cancer organization in the world. Together we launched “Mobilizing Hope”, a corporate alliance program that supports BCRF’s global researches to prevent and find a cure for breast cancer in this life time. Our support was not just monetary but also aimed at bringing awareness of their work into the forefront of our industry. Through this program we have donated over USD 1 million to the foundation.

Improve tyres LIFE

  1. The condition of your tyres is important for driving safety. By following these five golden rules, you can ensure top mileage, safe performance and a longer useful life for your tyres.
  2. Check your tyres pressures regularly. Uneven inflation between tyres affects the driving qualities of your vehicle and makes the tyres wear unevenly.
  3. Rotate the positions of your tyres between the front and rear axles after every 5,000 to 10,000 kilometers (3,000 to 6,000 miles) as the tyres wear differently in different positions. Remember to check tyres pressures when changing tyres.
  4. Check that you mount your tyres according to the rolling direction marking on the side of the tyres. If the tyres are mounted against their designated rolling direction, their driving qualities will not be optimal in all conditions.
  5. Drive smoothly. Panic braking and side-slips shorten the useful life of tyres.
  6. Check your old tyres for uneven wear when changing tyres. Correctly mounted and carefully driven tyres wear evenly. If your tyres show uneven wear, get the driving angles of your car measured and have your tyres mounted and balanced at a professional repair shop.

Check tyres WEAR

You can easily test the condition of your tyres by using tools that are found in your home. The match and coin tests are especially suitable for evaluating the condition of non-studded tyres. All of Omni United’s latest products are equipped with Driving Safety Indicators. The driver can use the indicators to check the condition and safety of the tyres. The indicator is located on the center surface of the tyres, and it indicates the depth of the tyres's main groove in millimeters; in other words, it shows how much tread remains.

Testing with a match
You can measure safety by using a regular five-centimeter match, which has a 3–4-millimetre sulphur tip. The tip should disappear from sight when the match is placed into the groove. Test at several points around the tyres. If the sulphur remains visible, the tread is not safe for winter driving. We recommend a minimum groove depth of 4 millimeters. The law requires 3 millimeters of tread for winter tyres, and 1.6 mm for summer tyres.

Check tyres PRESSURE

Instructions to check the inflation pressures.

  • The correct inflation pressure is provided in the owner's manual of your car.
  • Remember that temperature affects pressures: in cold weather, the pressure needs to be higher than in higher temperatures.
  • Never adjust the pressure immediately after driving, because driving heats up the tyres.
  • Remember to check the pressure on your spare tyres regularly too.
