This is a traditional-style Okinawan sanshin that uses high quality artificial snakeskin, made from an extremely durable form of polyester. The neck is made from solid oak, using only wood taken from the center of the tree, then carefully dried to prevent any cracking -- this will result in a much stronger neck and heavier sound. The quality of the neck and the reinforced skin bring you closer to the sound of genuine snakeskin. Additionally, as some countries prohibit the import of real snakeskin, this provides a perfect compromise without sacrificing quality, and allows you to start playing sanshin at a more affordable price.

Your Artificial Snakeskin Sanshin will come with a bachi, set of replacement strings and a cloth sack.
