This Plugable USB Type-C 3 Port USB 3.0 Aluminum Hub (USBC-HUB3P) is a USB 3.0 3 port hub that can be directly connected to a system with a USB Type-C port.

Note: Not all systems charged via the USB Type-C port conform to USB-IF PD standard.

Many smart phones with USB Type-C port currently on sale are not compliant with USB-IF PD standard.

As of August 2017, I know that this hub can not be used on MacBook 2016/2017.

Points to note when using the power adapter:

When using the hub with the host system power adapter connected (self-powered), the power for the hub itself to operate is also supplied from the power adapter for the connected host system.

With this specification, plugging and unplugging the adapter will reset the hub once.

This is because the hub internally switches between bus power (power supply from PC's USB Type-C port) and self power (power supply from power adapter).

This behavior is correct behavior conforming to the specification of USB-IF PD standard R2 V1.0, but in this point the USB devices connected to the hub will temporarily stop until the power switch is completed

Please be careful.

When a hard disk or the like is connected, data transfer is interrupted instantaneously, which may result in destruction of data or inconsistency.

When plugging in and pulling out the power adapter, please confirm that the USB device connected to the hub is not in use.

It can be used with Windows 7, 8.1, 10, Mac OS X, Linux kernel 3.0 or higher.

Compatibility with Chrome OS and Android systems depends on the system side.

For Windows systems, apply the latest update to the USB 3.0 / 3.1 host controller.

This hub itself is not a stand-alone charging device.

There is no special function to charge the equipment connected to the port of the hub.

The power supplied from the hub port is up to 900 mA of USB 3.0.

Because Apple SuperDrive requires special signals, it is incompatible with this hub (or a non-Apple hub).

Wireless equipment at 2.4 GHz frequency may not function correctly due to radio interference with USB 3.0 equipment.
