The leather used in this journal is extra rich and supple which has been achieved by using full grain leather that is drum dyed to ensure full dye penetration into the fiber. This technique can be compared and contrasted with spray coating of leather surface with colored pigments which is usually done to cover imperfections in the leather. Drum dyed leather has same color on both sides as is evident in the pictures to the left.
Blank, unlined pages in notebook are suitable for both writing and sketching with pencil.
