The shave is OK (a little awkward feel), my previous Panasonic shaver was a much better shave and feel.. but this was less money (sigh). I would have given it a 2 or 3, but then the razor stopped working. It beeped for a while until I assume the battery died, no details in manual or that I could find online on why it beeps. When I wen to a local repair shop, they said Braun only works with one repair centre in Canada now (assuming to cut costs). The issue is that it is a 2-3 week repair process and I still need to pay shipping. They don't pre-ship razors like other vendors, so now I am regretting going to the "cheap" Braun; which isn't really that cheap. I would recommend going with something sen less money and not worry about warranty or go with a reputable brand that has local repair depots. I tried electronic years ago and always felt it never got a close enough shave compared to standard razors. I was happy to try this Braun Shaver and see if my opinions had changed. I am pleased to say they have. Pros: The charge lasts FOREVER. I am still on my initial charge since receiving it, nearly 3 wks ago. This shaver does get a clean and close shave. I love the feature for longer trims--I use this on my sideburns. Prior, I had to use two tools, my manual razor plus trimmers for my daily grooming. This product gets it all done. Cons: I notice that when I take 'a break' from shaving on the weekends and its monday, and I have considerably more regrowth, this shaver does not get the close shave it does with daily use. In fact, it takes me way too long to shave--my old way is definitely quicker when I have a few days of stubble. First was the overall quality which I would rate as top notch. Second was the absence of any type of holder or stand like they provided with my son lower Series 3. Not a big thing but it struck me as odd. Moving into the important parts I really like this razor. A lot! It shave wet or dry which means you can take it into the shower and it does a fairly decent job for me. My beard is extremely difficult because the way the hair grows is in all different directions so I have to shave in every direction to give it a sporting chance. I have also tried various shave cremes and and found that pre electric type products work the best for me. I found a little bottle of something called shave secret which is nothing more than natural oils that works by far the best for me. I don't remember who makes it b
