I can read the time from 25 ft away very easy on the eyes when you just need to know what time it is. Note that the second had sweep is NOT silent. So if you do not mind hearing the "tick, tick, tick" like I don't mind hearing it, it is not a loud tick anyway but you do hear it if the room is quiet, then this clock does the job.
